Failure is essential for success

Failing is a crucial part of an innovation process, serving as a powerful catalyst for growth and learning. Innovation involves venturing into the unknown, where the potential for failure is as significant as the opportunity for success.

Hear Niklas Madsen on how a positive attitude (inställningen) towards failure during the development phase is what many companies forget many times, which can lead to even bigger failures. Thus, embracing failure is essential to foster a culture of innovation, where perseverance leads to eventual success. However, over the years, some companies have misjudged parts of this process, leading to embarrassments when products and services reach the market. Ignoring the lessons inherent in missteps can cause a business to repeat the same errors, hindering its progress and innovation. Such oversight may lead to stagnation or even bankruptcy, as the company fails to adapt to changing markets or consumer needs.

A training method with a focus on developing the brain

The brain has an enormous potential and is one of the most complex organs in the body. It is responsible for processing information from our senses, controlling our thoughts and behaviors, and regulating body functions. The brain has an ability to adapt and learn throughout life, which means that it has a great potential to develop and improve its functions. The brain is also the source of creativity, innovation and problem-solving.

Hear Björn Foghammar, Owner Life Kinetik Sverige, on how we can develop our brains.

INNOVATION WORKSHOPS

At the center of Innovation Pioneers Summit you'll find hands-on learning opportunities. We are therefore proud to present four summit tailored workshops presented by our initiators and member organizations.

All summit participants will have the opportunity to take part in three out of four innovation workshops during the two day summit. You will be able to select your preferred workshops upon arrival at the Summit.

Workshops presented by:

Volvo Cars and Superlab:
"What comes around is usually not used by others"

Today Volvo Cars spend approximately SEK 50 million a month because they have unstructured data in production and it can’t be used by the Service Department. In a large company an enormous amount of systems are keeping track of a sub optimised result for a specific department. This data is not used between departments to find synergy effects today. If we could utilise the systems data in other departments, what can we learn? Can we become better at understanding our data points and the connection between them? Can we save money? Can we improve? Can we use AI to prevent things?

During this workshop we will tackle the large industry problem and try to figure out how it can be utilised in a smarter way. We will be using a new perspective approach with the "Through the glasses off.." method that has been developed by Superlab. You will have the opportunity to learn how to work with new perspectives to achieve higher goals and better innovation in a very creative way.

Skanska:
Achieving Net-Zero ambitions with value chain innovation

For a construction and development company like Skanska, achieving Net-Zero carbon emissions is very much dependent upon what we can achieve together with our value chain. Many of the solutions needed to reach the goals and targets for Net-Zero carbon emissions by 2045 is not yet available and innovation with our supply chain partners will be required.

What are the keys in setting up innovation partnerships with suppliers and subcontractors? When co-creating low carbon solutions, how do we secure commitment and engagement to the task as well as both parties getting full benefits from the partnership. What are the pitfalls and the golden rules?

Ekan Management:
Synergy Unplugged: Navigating the Future of Collaborative R&D

As our industry becomes increasingly interconnected, the challenges we encounter are multifaceted and require innovative approaches to collaboration. While forming Joint Ventures and collaborative programs appears as a strategic path, embracing the economy of scale and risk distribution, they also introduce the complex dynamics of merging different people, cultures, and IT systems.

Imagine if integrating these elements could become more straightforward, almost as simple as connecting a standard cable socket. This workshop sets the stage for a collective exploration of this idea. We do not promise universal solutions but invite you to join us and explore the possibilities.

Our sessions are designed to open dialogues around demystification of some mechanisms in creation of Joint Ventures and understanding the nuances of collaborative data exchange. We’ll look at strategies and concepts that aim to facilitate integration without overlooking the complexities involved.

This workshop is an opportunity to connect, exchange perspectives, and enrich the understanding of collaboration in a technologically complex environment. Let’s gather to share insights, experiences, and explore the 'what ifs' that can inform the future of our collaborative efforts in R&D.

We look forward to your participation as we navigate the possibilities together.

Life Kinetik:
Our incredible brain. Innovation starts here

People can use their brains to come up with new ideas, find solutions to problems and be creative in different ways.

Life Kinetik Brain training is a method used to improve the brain function and cognitive abilities of an individual. It includes various unique exercises and techniques aimed at stimulating the brain and increasing its ability to process information, solve problems and improve memory. Life Kinetik is a training method with a focus on developing the brain. The goal for us is to use a greater part of our brain's potential by creating new connections (synapses) between our brain cells.

During the workshop we go a little bit more in depth and connect the theoretical part into praxis and we try a few of the 1000ths of exercises included in our training method.
